Introducing 'Lifelines'
A Lifelines group is a small group (2-4 in number) of 'similar' Christians who commit to meet regularly together to share, care and encourage each other.
The idea is that they will study God’s Word together, pray together and reach out together.
What are the benefits of the Lifelines groups?
Lifelines are small groups, so they provide intimacy and confidence.
'Similar' Christians will have common needs and common solutions.
Meeting regularly together helps to build friendship and trust.
Lifelines groups encourage specific praying and help to boost the confidence to pray in public.
Groups can help each other, reach out together and increase their non-Christian contacts.
An example
For example, a Lifelines group could be:
Three working fathers who meet agree to meet once a month for 6 months.
They rotate the venue.
They nominate 3 non-Christian contacts.
They study God's Word using the 'One 2 One' material.
An typical meeting might consist of:
- Chat & coffee & cakes
- Opening prayer time
- Bible study
- Sharing time
- Prayer time
- Reaching Out Together
- Updates and feedback
- Planing social events
- Prayer for their contacts
What makes these different from our existing Fellowship Groups?
These are smaller and more intimate.
Lifeline groups will run all-year-round, not just for a few weeks.
The times & dates are arranged by the group to suit the group members.
The group members are in similar situations.
Lifelines groups promote evangelism.
How do I get started?
Pick up a starter pack from the church from the Lifelines display board in the church.
Form a group and register it using the form in the starter pack.
